The Chief Minister of Uva Province Hon. Shasheendra Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Minister of Education of the Uva Provincial Council has launched a program to provide more resources to schools to enhance the standard of education of the children of his province.
Under this program, Eththalagedara Thakshila Vidyalaya in the Bandarawela Educational Zone received a new unit to learn computer and other IT related areas and a well equipped library, at a cost of Rs. five million, recently.
On the same day, at the Seevali Navodya Maha Vidyalaya of Bandarawela, the Chief Minister together with his officials attached to the Provincial Education Department distributed furniture, as well as necessary equipment for aesthetic studies and development of sports, update science laboratories and computer with IT facilities, to other schools of the area, worth around Rs. 22.6 million.
